Tropical fruits from Sanya, Hainan, popular at home and abroad

It's harvest season for various tropical fruits in Sanya, Hainan. In recent years, Sanya mangoes have been exported overseas to places such as Canada, Singapore and the US. The conditions in this southern Chinese city are perfect for growing mangoes. Currently, Sanya mangoes are grown on an acreage of more than 24,000 hectares, with an annual output value of nearly six billion yuan, or around 873 million US dollars, which has helped boost farmers' income in the region.

Every year, over 500,000 tons of high-quality tropical fruits are sold from Sanya to over 100 cities and regions in China, and exported to overseas markets such as Singapore, Canada and Germany. The total annual sales amount is nearly eight billion yuan, or around 1.16 million US dollars.
