Spar Poland and Austria rely on mobile presentation islands from Pack'nlog

"In the fruit and vegetables category, we recorded an increase of 36 percent"

In collaboration with Linz-based industry supplier Pack'nlog GmbH, Spar Austria as well as Spar Poland have implemented a number of mobile presentation islands (MPI) in recent months. Both opted for customized printing, reports Amra Avdic of Pack'nlog GmbH.


The presentation islands were individually printed: seasonal items are advertised under the slogan 'The best taste of the season'.

At Spar Austria, the display system has already become well established and the islands are successfully used in many stores throughout Austria. Spar Poland is now planning to roll out the presentation step by step as well. On the occasion of the new opening of the Eurospar store Druskienicka in the western Polish city of Poznan in November, a total of 43 islands were set up. "Overall, our store recorded a 23 percent increase in sales in December, while in the fruit and vegetables category we achieved an above-average 36 percent increase in sales thanks to the re-equipping with the Mobile Presentation Islands," reports the store management.

Regionality and uncompromising freshness are also at the forefront at Eurospar Poland. The MPIs were given the advertising slogan 'Gwarancja swiezosci', which means "freshness guarantee" in English.

The modern display and merchandise presentation solutions from Pack'nlog contribute to optimal goods handling as well as minimal spoilage in the fresh produce department. "Many Austrian Spar stores as well as the Eurospar branch Druskienicka use, in addition to the mobile presentation island, our goods presentation system called Eye-Catcher, which reduces the markdown of fruits and vegetables by up to 30 percent, prevents the overflow and piling up of goods and avoids quality loss. The goods are presented in a more attractive way, freshness is improved and sales are increased as a result," Avdic continues.

The Eye-Catcher goods presentation system is also already being used successfully in the Eurospar store in Poznan.
