Wicketed bagger is the solution for smaller produce

Fox Solutions manufactures a wicketed bagger with a small footprint that is capable of running raw, uncut produce under six inches in diameter or length, supporting weight from one pound to twenty pounds. “The FSWB3 Wicketed Bagger is excellent for packing lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit, as well as onions and potatoes of all varieties,” says Aaron Fox, Vice President of Fox Packaging and President of Fox Solutions. This machine design can support a variety of packaging types, ranging from their Fox Fresh Mesh Wicketed, Fox Fresh Mesh Combo, Fox Combo Ultra Shield, or Fox Poly bag designs. “Each package type serves a specific product need; having a machine that can run a range of packaging and that can support a range of produce supports the operational goals of the packing house.”

“The Fox Fresh Mesh Combo bag changed the industry when released, pairing film and mesh, offering a large print space for branding,” Fox explained. “In addition, mesh allows the product to naturally respirate, positively impacting product shelf-life.” The Fox Fresh Mesh Wicketed bag, on the other hand, is ideal for commodities like onions and sweet potatoes due to the nature of the non-abrasive mesh. Last but not least, the Fox Combo Ultra Shield bag blocks UV light from reaching potatoes, reducing the opportunity for greening by 33% in russet potatoes.

The wicketed bagger is unique as it can be paired with a Newtec weigher model, a total of four individual baggers supporting the line. In addition, Fox Solutions offers a double bagger, performing the actions of two machines in one setup. This allows the equipment to reach the required output while reducing overall labor.

As of right now, Fox Solutions has wicketed baggers installed across the United States and in parts of Mexico and Canada.
