Nashik Lasalgaon APMC: 30% drop in average wholesale onion price

The average wholesale onion price at the country's largest wholesale onion market at Lasalgaon Agriculture Produce Market Committee has declined by 30% in the last one month due to rise in supply. The average wholesale onion prices have declined from Rs 1,850 per 100 kg in the last week of December to Rs 1,260 per 100 kg on Tuesday due to rise in supply.

The stock of summer onions harvested in March and April last year has exhausted, while the arrival of fresh kharif onions has increased at Lasalgaon.  The arrival of the onions at the Lasalgaon APMC, which was around 1,000-1,200 tons per day, has now increased to 1,700-1,800 tons per day.
