Kazakhstan: Inflation exceeded 20% in 2022

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, inflation in Kazakhstan in December 2022 year-on-year exceeded 20%. "Inflation in December 2022 at an annualized rate was 20.3%. Food prices increased by 25.3%, non-food products by 19.4%, paid services by 14.1%," the Bureau said.

It is noted that among food products, prices have increased markedly for vegetables. Prices for cucumbers went up by 35.6% in December, for tomatoes by 14.6%.

Inflation in Kyrgyzstan at the end of December will be about 15.5%, and the average annual inflation will be about 14%. Such a forecast is provided in the Monetary Policy Report of the National Bank for the third quarter of 2022.
