Meghalaya State exports another 2 tons of Khasi Mandarins to UAE

The Directorate of Horticulture on December 16 facilitated the shipment of another 2 tons of Khasi Mandarins from Ardong Phlangwar Organic Producer Co-operative Society Ltd, South West Khasi Hills district to Doha, Bahrain.

Director D. Sohtun stated that it is the second shipment that was launched; the first shipment was from Jirang Organic Agro Producer Company. “It is the second shipment that we are sending to Doha and Bahrain. The first consignment was from Jirang Organic Agro Producer Company,” she said.

According to Assistant Director of Horticulture Banrishisha Mukhim, that the farmers will receive Rs 10 per piece (€0.12) and there are no middlemen involved. Sohtun said the department will send more mandarins if the market demands so.
