Although we've had to deal with corona in recent years, we expanded our international sales team. In Finland Luonnosta Oy we now have Antti, Olga and Maria and in the Netherlands we have Luonnosta Holland BV with Michiel and myself. Michiel is a real specialist in organic exotics and imports from South America; the other members of the sales team are all-round, experienced people in fruit and veg," says Heero Gramsma, managing director of Luonnosta Holand BV.
Luonnosta as a group was growing in turnover and volume in the year past, ending June 2022. Luonnosta Oy, Finland is there for 30 years; Luonnosta Holland started end of 2020. "There are two main focuses of the companies; root crops and avocado/ginger. We trade root crops like (sweet) potato, onions, carrot, beetroot all over Europe. Next to these root crops we sell and distribute exotics like organic avocado, turmeric and ginger. There is also Organic Avocado, which comes from our own project in Tanzania " Gramsma explains.
"For this season we see many opportunities and some challenges. We expect good trading opportunities due to the hot and dry weather circumstances all over Europe, but every now and then we see the logistical struggle; prices and availability are an issue. We still can solve these challenges together with our suppliers and clients; fortunately we have long lasting relations and an experienced team."
"Since corona we had less opportunity to visit our clients and suppliers, so now we are most happy that we can. We already enjoyed visiting Potato Europe and Fruit attraction, looking forward to the Dutch potato days. And later on we will be visiting more of our relations during the season. Luonnosta will also be present at Fruit Logistica in Berlin in February 2023 with our own stand; we hope to meet with you in the coming months," Gramsma concludes.
