"The demand for preservatives in the grape market remains high"

At present, the table grape industry is facing many challenges such as high production and logistics costs, increased transportation times, and labor shortages, but this does not affect the growing demand for grapes in the market. The grape season in many origins is coming soon. How to ensure the freshness of the grapes after harvest and extend the shelf life of the products are important issues that merchants pay attention to.

SPM Biosciences (Beijing) Inc. is a company specializing in the post-harvest preservation of fruits and vegetables. Its flagship product, ANGEL FRESH, is suitable for a variety of fruit and vegetable crops. Debby, from the company, introduced the preservative products developed by the company for grapes and specified their advantages.

“The main active ingredient of ANGEL FRESH is 1-MCP, which is an effective ethylene inhibitor, which keeps grape stems green, prevents grape fall-off and prolongs the shelf life. Our ANGEL FRESH sachets are available in a variety of sizes and in different packs. The product is very convenient to use, just put it in the grape packaging. Sachets can be used in all links of the post-harvest storage and transportation chain of fruits and vegetables, especially in storage and transportation. In addition, we can also provide customers with customized fresh-keeping solutions according to different packaging, and applications," Debby said, "In addition to using it alone, we recommend using 1-MCP sachets with sulfur dioxide pads for better results."

When talking about sales, Debby said, "In domestic grape storage and transportation, the use of fresh-keeping sachets is increasing every year. On the export side, the grape production season in South America, Africa, Europe and other regions will start in the second half of October. The pandemic has not completely ended, coupled with unstable shipping schedules, port congestion and other issues, the market demand for preservatives is still high."

The company has nearly ten years of experience in the local Chinese market, has its own R&D, analysis and service teams, and has obtained sales qualifications in Argentina and Dominica. It is currently looking for sales agents in other regions.

"In addition to the existing products, we hope to cooperate with more vegetable wholesalers, exporters, packers and agents to reduce the loss of vegetables and fruits in the supply chain. SPM Biosciences can also send free samples for customers to test."
