Exhibiting organic bananas with a social approach

Grupo AGGALL-Coliman Bananas says it is a pleasure to participate in the Organic Produce Summit 2022 and meet with the family of the organic products industry. As an organic banana producer, it has a commitment to promote the benefits of choosing products that respect the environment.

With more than 50 years of experience as growers, Coliman says it knows the implications involved in the management of bananas. It follows strict quality control standards through all stages of the growing, packing and shipping process. Its fruit is carefully selected by highly qualified personnel, taking into account the correct length, the ideal calibration and the ideal humidity of the peel and pulp. Its fruit is protected against low temperatures to preserve its quality from cultivation to the sorting stage, where bunches are cut by hand and transported from cutting to packing and cooling facilities to ensure maximum quality until arrival at its final destination.

Coliman's banana farms, packing and distribution centers are strategically located allowing it to optimize delivery times for the more than 4 million boxes sold per year in the international markets. As an added value, it can customize the labels and packaging of its bananas to help customers meet the demands and regulations of local markets.

Coliman's business has expanded from Mexico to North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

Through Coliman Organic, it says it is committed to maintaining a fresh product and providing the customer with the best, delicious bananas. Its goal is to be the most socially and environmentally conscious organic banana producer. In addition to worrying about maintaining high-quality standards, Coliman says it also cares about providing well-being to its people and taking care of its land.

For this reason, Coliman says its products are backed by certifications such as Rainforest Alliance, USDA Organic, Canada Organic, Global G.A.P, Sedex-SMETA, Socially Responsible Company and Fairtrade.
Through Fairtrade certification (obtained in 2014), it seeks to improve working conditions and the general well-being of its workers on agricultural plantations. By becoming certified, workers receive a direct economic benefit and this is what makes “Fair Trade” truly unique. To obtain certification, farms must meet rigorous social, environmental and economic standards.

Collaboration with and care for the people behind its products is part of its DNA as a business, and its commitment to empowering farmers and workers through Fairtrade partnership is making a tangible difference for thousands.

At OPS 2022, it hopes to find commercial allies that share its business vision and that, in addition to an economic benefit, seek to impact social and environmental well-being, prioritizing people and their environment.

Coliman welcomes visitors July 13-14 at booth #802 at the Monterey Conference Center.
