Thousands of acres of crop lands lost in the Fraser Valley flood

In the Fraser Valley flooding, agriculture crops and commodities have been struck with disaster. According to Minister of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Lana Popham, many crops have been completely lost. In the Fraser Valley, some 57 blueberry producers have been impacted, for a total of close to 2,100 acres of blueberries. Another 82 acres of raspberries will all need to be ripped out and re-planted once waters recede.

Field crops in the Sumas Prairie and Fort Langley, growing vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, carrots and leaks have also been significantly impacted.
