Peruvian pineapple exports recover

Pineapple is one of the crops that seeks to position itself in export markets, although its volumes are irregular. According to the Agrodata Peru website, in 2017, Peru shipped a total of 70,366 kilos of this fruit for an FOB value of US $ 276,598. These figures marked a significant decline compared to the 102,877 kilos that had been sent abroad in 2016 for US $138,121.

However, exports seem to be recovering this year. According to records, between January and April this year, Peru exported 30.303 kilos of pineapple for $106.883.

A large majority of these shipments, i.e. 92% of them, were sent to Germany. The remaining 8% was sent to Chile.
