Organic acreage increases in France
The Agence Bio announced at the end of September that mid-August organic acreage had reached over 1.5 million hectares. Amongst the 31,880 organic French producers, 7,603 are in fruit and vegetables. Vegetable farms are the majority with 4,059 organic farms, and 431 new ones in June 2016. Good progress is noted in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur with +10%, Rhone-Alpes (+8.5%) and Brittany (+8%).
