South Africa to increase orange juice production

South Africa will produce 47,000 tonnes of FCOJ in the 2015/16 season, a 13% increase over the previous season, according to a new USDA report.

This is directly due to a greater volume of fruit destined for processing. The USDA predicts that while production will remain static (1.79 million tonnes of oranges, compared with 1.70 mln tonnes in 2014/15), 436,000 tonnes of fruit will go to juicing.
