Garth Lockyerhas retired from his full time Executive position at Valleyfresh. Valleyfresh Group CEO Murray McCallum paid tribute to Garth in this statement:
“Garth established Valleyfresh in Melbourne over 20 years ago in conjunction with his business partner Jamie Craig. In the early days Garth managed a small team selling imported fresh produce to the Melbourne markets.

Since then, Valleyfresh has grown to be one of the preeminent fresh produce import companies in Australia. Today they supply the wholesale markets and all major supermarket chains as well as running large-scale prepacking operations in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and recently in Perth, with the launch of the Packing Station.

Valleyfresh has also grown to be a significant Pacific Rim Exporter of fresh produce into Asia with offices in the Australia, New Zealand, The United States, Indonesia, Peru and Chile. In 2014 the company expanded its Global reach further establishing an export operation in South Africa. This growth and where Valleyfresh is today is a testament to Garth’s hard work, dedication and core values of always going the extra distance to deliver quality produce to customers in a timely fashion.”

Garth Lockyer will continue in his role as the Non-Executive Chairman of Valleyfresh and consult to the company on special project work. McCallum states, “We will see considerably more growth at Valleyfresh in the years to come and will value Garth’s input on this ongoing journey.”

McCallum says, “I wish Garth the very best in his retirement. His first task will be to visit the UK and get the All Blacks across the line in the World Cup!”
