Highline Mushrooms is pleased to announce the winners of its 2015 Annual Highline Family Scholarship. A total of $13,500 has been awarded to eleven students across Highline’s Kingsville, Leamington and Wellington farms to assist in their post secondary education.
Since introducing the scholarship in 2009, Highline has awarded over $80,000 to Associates and their children and/or grandchildren to achieve their educational goals. “We want to recognize and celebrate all of our 2015 Highline Scholarship recipients and are honoured to be able to assist them in their pursuit of higher education,” stated Glenn Martin, President and CEO of Highline Mushrooms. Criteria for the selection process included academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, community involvement, employment experience, and how well the applicant embodies Highline’s family values of Integrity, Community Involvement, Scientific Exploration, Leadership, Perseverance, Shared Success, Respect for the Environment, and The Pursuit of Excellence. Scores were gathered independently by a committee made up of individuals from both within Highline and from independent third parties.
