Switzerland: normal apple stock

At the end of November, Switzerland had 60,544 tonnes of apples in storage, German website Fruchtnews.de reports. That means the stock is at about the same level as last year.

The largest part consists of the Gala variety, with 16,763 tonnes, followed by Golden Delicious with 14,226 tonnes, figures from Swisscofel and the 'Schweizer Obstverband' (SOV) show. Where organic apples are concerned, there are 2,779 tonnes, which is less stored apples than last year (2013: 3,882 tonnes).
