Germany: low prices for carrots

It was a very good carrot year, this year, for consumers in Germany, reports the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) on its website. The average consumer price for 1 kg of German carrots without leaves was rarely above 1 Euro throughout the year.

At the moment the average price per kg is still under 70 cents. But the carrots were coming straight from the fields until recently. Now the carrots are coming from storage, and like every other year, they will slowly become more expensive.
