Invenio tests lamps for greenhouse strawberries in France
Many producers of early strawberries use lighting to make up for the lack of cold that the plants have had and increase dormancy. This technique allows for a better development of the plant : the leaves are higher, flower stalks longer and foliage greater.
Professionals are generally equipped with incandescent 10 W/m2 bulbs with 8-10 flashes of 15 minutes per hour during the night. Due to the withdrawal of incandescent bulbs, Invenio has set up a technical and economical analysis comparing different types of energy efficient lamps.
