Francisco Oliva S.L. is a fruit and vegetable producer from south east Spain, a region with fertile soil, humidity and many hours of sunshine. They own farms in Elche, San Javier, Pulpí and recently also in Agadir, Morocco.

"At the moment there is little pepper production and prices are very high", explains Diego Molina, of Francisco Oliva S.L. "We struggle in the market with prices ranging from 80 cents to a Euro in the field, making them very expensive by the time they reach consumers."
Nevertheless, Diego is optimistic about the coming months. "Now there is little production, but we expect it to increase throughout the season and become stable."
Yellow peppers
Until recently, Dutch peppers had a strong presence in the market, but with the arrival of cold weather plants do not produce as much. "The Netherlands is a strong competitor with vegetables, and now that their season is almost over, it is a good opportunity for us," explains Diego.
At Francisco Oliva S.L. size, quality and food safety come together.
Regarding the competition with Moroccan products, Diego affirms that "their quality is becoming increasingly like that of our peppers, which will boost their presence in the market."

The firm exports its peppers under the brand "Francisco Oliva", mainly to France, but also to Germany, where the "tricolour" flow-pack of the California variety, with a red, green and a yellow pepper, is very popular.
