US: BrightFarms and Agro AdviesBuro partner

It has been announced that BrightFarms, Inc. and Agro AdviesBuro have partnered to build the world’s largest network of hydroponic greenhouses. BrightFarms, based in New York City, finances, builds, and operates commercial-scale greenhouses in partnership with supermarkets across the United States. The company is currently building five greenhouses, including the world’s largest rooftop farm.

Agro AdviesBuro, based in the Netherlands, is a renowned consultancy that specializes in horticulture. The company confirmed that BrightFarms’ business model of financing, building and operating greenhouses directly at supermarkets, is a game-changer for the hydroponic industry; BrightFarms innovative model of building state-of-the-art greenhouses in partnership with retailers dramatically increases the availability of fresh, local produce across the United States.

“Agro AdviesBuro is the right partner to provide feasibility verification and growing systems optimization for BrightFarms' visionary business model,” said Martin Weijters, BrightFarms Vice President of Agriculture.

“We’re looking forward to offering our consulting expertise to BrightFarms and watching the company, and our partnership, grow,” says Pieter van Velden, Vice President of Agro AdviesBuro.
