Photo report Empack Brussels 2012

On Wednesday the 26th and Thursday the 27th of September the Empack trade fair took place in Brussels for the eleventh time. Lobke Vergauwen, Easyfairs Belgium, says that she is very satisfied with how the fair went. There was a participants field of 235 exhibitors of which 30% were active in the packaging machines, 28% in packaging materials and 15% in coding and labelling.

Lobke explains that it was within the line of expectation. "The number of visitors is traditionally lower in even years, because there are less Dutch visitors." The quality of visitors was certainly very high. Lobke heard from various sources that the visitors, of which over 20% have a decisive role, visited the fair with specific questions.

Most of the visitors were from Belgium, and mainly from the food, processing and packaging sectors. What is striking is that 7% is from the agricultural sector. The visitors mainly work in large or medium sized sectors. Around 20% of the visitors work in larger companies.

Next year the Empack will be held in Brussels on the 2nd and 3rd of October. There will be a new lay out for the fair, more diagonal, so that the visitors line of vision is broken, instead of having long hallways. Empack has been laid out in the same way for 10 years, which means it's time for something new. With this new structure we're trying to create more selling points within the fair, according to Lobke.
