Rewe start online shopping in Cologne
The German retailer Rewe with effect from 26 September will offer its delivery service for foodstuff in Cologne. This delivery service was introduced earlier in Hamburg, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.
"With the delivery service we offer our clients a comfortable and time-saving alternative to the usual shopping in a supermarket," Lional Souque of Rewe said in connection with the start of Rewe online in Cologne. "Compared to other European countries the German online food trade is still behind. The potential, to fill a need in client requirements with this concept in densely populated areas, is high."
On www.rewe-online.de according to Rewe it is easy and quick to do one's daily shopping in three simple steps: ("online ordering', 'select time of delivery' and 'to have delivered at home') The offer includes the complete supermarket assortment including vegetables. Up to 21 days in advance clients may file their orders, which may also still be changed shortly before the selected date of supply.
At the door of their home clients may taste the products and possibly return them. The use of the delivery service is possible with a minimum amount of Euro 40,00 per order. The cost per delivery is Euro 5,00.
