Fruit Vandepoel revives nuts and dried fruit assortment

New: nuts and dried fruit in tubes

Nuts and dried fruits are eaten increasingly often by consumers. Nuts are part of the health trend that has been taking place for years. Wholesaler Fruit Vandepoel from Brussels, Belgium capitalises on this by presenting these products in a new and colourful manner. “Last year, we carefully started with six products, and the assortment gradually grew. Now we are proud to present more than 40 types of nuts and dried fruits, available in tubes,” Wim says enthusiastically. “We had these kinds of products in our range much earlier, but in different packaging. We wanted to revive our assortment.”

Presentation display
Wim indicates that the tubes are marketed under the Bénuti brand. “This brand name can be pronounced properly in various languages. Be is for Belgium, and nuti for the nuts. The reddish accents on the packaging make it more noticeable, and more colourful in the grey winter months. The tubes are affixed on a presentation display. This does not take up much space, and is about 30 centimetres wide, and can therefore be placed anywhere. Even in small shops, near the check-out register, for example. The tubes are currently being bought by the more luxurious shops, and even by some market vendors. Another large benefit of the tubes is that they are firmly affixed to the display. The weight of the tubes varies per product, from 100 to 160 grammes.”

The opportunities to sell these products are very diverse. “It is not just a good product to sell separately, they can also be easily processed into party or fruit baskets. Consumers will easily buy them in shops, because they are easy to bring on the road with you, for the tubes are also resealable. Demand for these new tubes is already good, and I definitely expect an increase as we are headed towards the holidays.”
