Record supply for mandarins

Mandarin oranges are in excellent supply and already in high promotion. Adam Cooper, Vice President of Wonderful Halos, says they’re getting set for their biggest year ever, holding fast in the category with their Halos brand. Through in-store POS and marketing towards consumers, the company’s $30-million advertising campaign, launched October 31, themed “Good Choice, Kid.™” celebrates kids who make good and healthy choices with Wonderful Halos.

Wonderful Halos starts the 2016–2017 season with its biggest crop yet. “Supply is up about 9% - another record crop and we’re very excited about it,” said Cooper. “We’re continuing to harvest and it’s going well. We’ve never done marketing this early before so it’s exciting to have our campaign launched already.” The campaign began with Halloween themed advertising and as the holiday season gets closer, the new 7lb Halos Holiday Box will be front and center when consumption spikes. “During the whole month of December a lot of people have holiday get togethers and that was one of the insights that inspired some of our new products.”

The box is perfect for customers to give as a gift during the holidays, bringing enough for everyone to enjoy. It will be available in stores from Thanksgiving through Christmas. “Wonderful Halos are a good choice both parents and kids can agree on,” said Cooper, “Parents love Halos because they’re an ideal, healthy snack full of ‘pure goodness,’ and kids love our palm-sized mandarins because they’re easy to peel, seedless and bursting with sweet flavor.”

Later this holiday season, Wonderful Halos will bring festive cheer throughout the country to select malls by partnering with the “Adventure to Santa” interactive journey. Halos fans will be able to meet Santa and receive free Halos coupons online at
