Rathgeb Bio and Kellermann Gemüsekulturen announce joining forces

"Further strengthen and develop organic vegetable production in Switzerland"

The family businesses Rathgeb Bio and Kellermann Gemüsekulturen have decided to shape their future together from April 2023. The two sustainability pioneers Christian Rathgeb and Martin Kellermann share common values and traditions. All previous fields of activity and locations of both company groups will be continued. The operational management of the companies will remain in the hands of the proven leaders.

"The two company cultures are an excellent fit. The proximity of our operations to each other will enable us to rapidly drive joint developments in the future and support each other," says Christian Rathgeb (54). "This merger strengthens our expertise, as we complement each other in the areas of organic farming and vegetable processing. Our customers can benefit from this," explains Martin Kellermann (63).

For suppliers and customers, this means a seamless continuation of the proven business relationship with the familiar contacts. The agricultural areas can be worked with shorter travel times and therefore more efficiently and ecologically. Customers in Switzerland are enthusiastic about organic, as well as trendy products that are fresh and quickly prepared. At Kellermann Gemüsekulturen, Martin Kellermann will focus on the Board of Directors while Christian Rathgeb will take over as Chairman of the Board.

Synergies thanks to combined forces
Martin and Käthi Kellermann were very concerned to find a future-oriented successor for the company, the proven employees and the long-standing business partners. Martin Kellermann was committed to a high-performance solution: "The history of our company continues, the competencies of the two family businesses will enable synergies that will create real added value for our customers and the market."

Christian and Esther Rathgeb add: "In the discussions, we came to the conclusion that by joining forces, we can further strengthen and develop organic vegetable production in Switzerland. The networking of knowledge from the two family businesses will lead to significant impulses for new products and processes." Thanks to the proven and reliable employees in both companies, the future can be shaped together.
