The Princesa Amandine potato was awarded the 2023 Flavor of the Year award for the second consecutive year in Spain

The Princesa Amandine potato has been awarded the Flavor of the Year award for the second year in a row, a distinction that is given by consumers in blind testing carried out by independent sensory laboratories. This award is the result of the evaluation that consumers make of the product based on different parameters, such as the product's appearance, smell, taste, and texture.

“Obtaining the Flavor of the Year award for the second consecutive year is a confirmation that our Princesa Amandine potato's fine, rich, and creamy flavor have won over Spanish consumers,” stated Jean Michel Beranger, Managing Director of the Princesa Amandine Iberian Association.

According to Princesa Amandine, the formula for this success is to take care of the entire process, from the field to the consumer's table. “It's a constant day-to-day work in the field, tending and pampering the land, taking care of the potatoes and how we harvest and transport them to the final consumer,” Beranger stated.

This potato's thin skin, firm meat, smooth texture, and light fresh butter flavor are highly appreciated by consumers, chefs, and gourmets. This variety is available all year round. It is a very versatile potato in the kitchen, as it can be steamed, boiled, fried, sautéed, mashed, and baked.

"The 2023 Flavor of the Year seal will be included in the three formats in which the potato is currently available: 1.5 kg mesh with 45-65 mm potatoes for longer preparations, the 400 g microwave format, which has 35-45 mm calibers that can be quickly cooked in 7 minutes, and the new format, a steamed potato seasoned with Provencal herbs that are packaged in a Fifth Range cardboard box and can be heated in 2 or 3 minutes."

Princesa Amandine can currently be purchased in the main distribution chains such as Alcampo, Ahorramás, Simply, Eroski, Carrefour, El Corte Inglés, Hipercor, Lidl, Supercor, Sánchez Romero, Consum (Catalonia), E. Leclerc, Unide, Masymas, and Lupa.
