For Greype France, the campaign of Portuguese citrus fruit started in October. The company has been working with this origin for 6 years, starting with the Rocha pear and now citrus, including oranges, lemons and clementines, which all benefit from the PGI Citrinos do Algarve certification. “We started the clementine campaign over a month ago, and the oranges two weeks ago,” explains Tristan Margalet, CEO of Greype France.
Continued development of the Portuguese range
The Portuguese origin is mainly known and recognized for its Rocha pear, but in recent years, the Algarve region has also gained popularity for its citrus fruit production. These are all certified PGI Citrinos do Algarve and they seem to have found a place on the French market, with a demand that keeps growing year after year. “In the past 4 years, this market has developed a lot and is getting more and more competitive. At Greype France, we continue to develop the Portuguese origin. The leaf oranges, untreated after harvest, have even become one of our major references, very popular among mass retailers.” The company sells these Portuguese products under the brand Greype Portugal.
