Fyffes melon subsidiary wins social responsibility award in Honduras

The Honduran Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility (Fundahrse) has awarded a subsidiary of Fyffes, the melon company Sol Group, the Fundahrse seal for socially responsible companies for the years 2022-2023, after it was rated on the seven thematic indicators of corporate social responsibility had achieved an average score of 96 percent, as the company announced. 

Sheila McCann-Morrison, Fyffe's Chief Supply Office, and Genivaldo Pereira, Sol Group General Manager, attended the awards ceremony on Thursday, November 17 in Tegucigalpa, the capital of
Honduras. Commenting on the award, Genivaldo Pereira said: "I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of Fyffes and our melon company. This award is a recognition of the tremendous commitment of our Honduran employees who do their utmost to improve our company. I want to thank them for their commitment to helping Fyffes achieve its vision of becoming one of the most sustainable and ethical companies in Honduras."

Adds Sheila McCann-Morrison, "Receiving the Fundahrse Seal is a tremendous honor and reflects the magnitude of the transformation of our winter melon business. The new leadership team in Honduras has leveraged their skills and expertise to ensure our melon business promotes well-being; not just for our customers, but also for the local communities and especially for our employees.
