On August 31, the General Administration of Customs announced that the import of fresh Iranian citrus, that meets the relevant requirements, will be allowed from now on, which is the first time that fresh Iranian fruit has been allowed to be exported to China.
The fruits that were approved for export to China are citrus Sinensis, citrus reticulata, and sweet lemon (Citrus limetta).
According to the announcement, citrus orchards, packaging plants, and cold treatment facilities that will export to China must be reviewed and filed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran (hereinafter referred to as MJA) and jointly approved and registered by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as GACC) and MJA. Registration information must include name, address, and identification code. The registration list shall be provided to GACC by MJA before the export season of each year, and the GACC will publish the registration list on the official website.
