Kashmir apple farmers expect bumper yield

Apple farmers of Kashmir valley are expecting a bumper harvest this year as infectious diseases often affecting the crop production saw decline amid a vigorous campaign launched by the Horticulture Department to raise awareness on adopting right farm practices. The department said this year there were very less occurrences of diseases in apple orchards than in previous years.

Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ghulam Rasool Mir said the department had launched awareness campaigns and appealed to apple growers to follow guidelines and advisories issued by the department from time to time to avoid scab infection.
