Brazilian government worried about logistical bottlenecks in fertilizer delivery

Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture, Marcos Montes, said that there is a fear of possible logistical bottleneck in the arrival of fertilizers for the 2022/23 crop. “Some producers are waiting for the price to drop in order to buy, which can create a logistical problem at the crucial time. Logistics can be messed up, but there are fertilizers. Our fear is that producers will delay the purchase and this will create a logistical bottleneck in the future,” said Montes at a press conference at the  13th Brazilian Cotton Congress, held by  the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa) .

He stated that fertilizer prices have already subsided, although they are still not at the level desired by farmers. “The producer will have to adapt to what is there, but he has the product. Fertilizers are all in the country.”
