Turkey’s largest fresh fruit and vegetable importers are Russia, Romania and Germany

Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters' Association, announced that Turkey's fresh fruit and vegetable exports reached the level of 1.45 billion dollars in the first half of 2022.

Evaluating the performance of the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector in the first half of the year according to product groups and countries, Gürüz said: "In this period, we exported tomatoes worth 247.9 million dollars with a surge of 15 percent, tangerines worth 168.7 million dollars (up 19 percent) and lemons worth 148.8 million dollars (up 5 percent)."

The biggest markets in for fresh fruit and vegetable exports in the first half of the year were Russia, Romania and Germany. Turkey exported 454.9 million dollars to Russia, 126.8 million dollars to Romania and 124.7 million dollars to Germany. Israel, Croatia and Azerbaijan-Nakhichevan were among the countries where we achieved the strongest increases in export volume in the said period.
