The cost of living crisis continues to go up across the European Union, as the CPI has broken yet another record with a year-on-year rise of 9.6% in June. However, Spain's inflation has far exceeded this average with a rate of 10%, exceeding that of the other large economies: Italy (8.5%). Germany (8.2%) and France (65%).
Everybody has noticed an increase in supermarket prices and for good reason: last month, food and beverages were 13% more expensive in Spain than he same time last year. In comparison, the cost in Germany only rose by11.2% while this increase dropped to 9.2% in Italy and just 63% in France.
In fact, both olive oil and fruit are now more expensive in Spain than anywhere else in the EU.
