Kick-off of the harvest for the Label Rouge Reine-Claude

The Reine-Claude plum harvest, eagerly awaited by consumers and buyers, started this year ten days early on July 14. If the harvest risks being reduced by half because of the spring frosts, the abundance of sunshine over the last few weeks will help to ensure a very good taste for the Queen of plums.

The first Label Rouge Reine-Claude was marketed in 1998. This year, about sixty producers have committed to the program. Guaranteed by the Label Rouge specifications, quality is closely linked to the sugar content (above 17° Brix) and the size of the fruit (above 35 mm). Coming from certified orchards, picked at optimal maturity, and harvested by hand, the Label Rouge Reine-Claude offers all the guarantees of premium quality.

Highly appreciated for its sweet flavor, its honey scent, and its subtle aromas, the Label Rouge Reine Claude is easily identifiable by its slightly golden green color, sometimes highlighted by a red pigmentation.
