According to data shared by the Agrodata Peru website, in the first half of this year, Peruvian canned artichoke exports amounted to 39,873,078 dollars, i.e. 15.48% more than the 34,526,720 dollars achieved in the same period of the previous year.
Peru exported 15,505,534 kilos of canned artichoke, 14.9% more than the 13,493,958 kilos it shipped in the same period of 2021.
The United States was the main destination in the first 6 months of the year, concentrating 70% of total shipments. US purchases amounted to $27,719,884. The US was followed by Spain with a 20% share and $8,131,287.
Other target markets were France with $1,871,220 (5% of the total), Canada with $768,392 (2%), Germany with $523,939 (1%), Chile with $384,088 (1%), Brazil with $169,577 (1%), Australia with $85,870, the Netherlands with $64,168, Lebanon with $51,361, and other markets with $103,292.
From January to June 2022, the main exporting companies were Danper Trujillo with shipments of $15,112,901 (5,568,044 kilos), VirĂº with $12,732,912 (4,802,265 kilos), and Alsur Peru with $8,644,093 (3,545,922 kilos).
