Dutch company, Fonkels has introduced a new packaging. It is for soft fruit, has a lid, and is available in 150 and 300 g sizes. "This packaging has a patented, unique flex bottom," says general manager Karel-Jan van der Klis.
"That bottom moves along with the contents. That ensures the soft fruit isn't crushed and collects any juice. So, this 100% cardboard packaging is a suitable alternative to plastic packaging. The 300 g Re-fruiter Tray for soft fruit can also be used to package strawberries."

"This berry tray, produced in our BRC plant, is made from recycled cardboard. It's 100% food-safe; after use, you can recycle it anew with your waste paper. By using cardboard as packaging, you directly reduce plastic waste and minimize your environmental impact. The fruit trays are delivered ready to use and stacked, making it easy and quick to work with," concludes Karel-Jan.
All Fonkles' packaging can be personalized. Soft fruit businesses can, thus, provide their clients with fruit as well as a personalized message printed on the tray. The first of this packaging was delivered to a soft fruit sector company last month.
