Growers United celebrates driving its new building's first pile N

New Dutch packing center will be ready in late 2023

On July 12, Dutch fruit-vegetable cooperative Growers United celebrated driving the first pile of its new packing center, which includes offices. The new building in North Holland will be used for sorting and packaging the PapriCo product group's bell peppers.

Everyone involved in the construction of this new building participated in the festivities. Growers United's general manager Jan Opschoor and PapriCo grower Arnaud van Dijk officially opened the event. Then it was time for the cocktail party.

Sustainable building
Growers United is convinced that doing business sustainably is the future. The new building will therefore be built as sustainably as possible. The design also focused on creating a pleasant working environment, and the building will be transparent.

Business operations will be visible from the offices. Plus, employees can take breaks, inside or outside. The grounds will have a green and open character. The building covers a 10,000 m2 production space, 840m2 office space, and has two loading bays.

Mark Borst (Operational Director PapriCo) officially drove the first pile.

North-Holland was a deliberate choice
Growers United recently built a new packing center in Maasdijk. However, they deliberately chose, with this site, to keep sorting and packaging bell peppers in North Holland. It is close to the PapriCo growers' farms. So, they can operate flexibly and respond quickly to customer demands.
