François Dalle, Fruidor Terroirs:

“We favor a local, HEV and diversified offer”

Each year, Fruidor Terroirs sells more than 110,000 tons of fruit and vegetables, in France and abroad. With its 250 partner producers, more than 80 varieties are sold. “Fruidor Terroirs is the fruit and vegetable shipping branch of Fruidor, which is part of the Solveg Group. The purpose of this alliance is to go even further in promoting French producers,” explains François Dalle, national director of Fruidor Terroirs. “The company offers an innovative and diversified range of quality products, under two main brands: Les Nouveaux Producteurs and Prestige du Potager, which offer a guarantee of food safety, traceability and certifications thanks to the partner producers connected to their land.”

Les Nouveaux Producteurs: premium brand for mass retail
Fifteen varieties of fruit and vegetables are currently sold under the brand Les Nouveaux Producteurs. From green beans to asparagus, potatoes and strawberries, the brand proposes a premium range to mass retailers.

Prestige du Potager: brand for specialized wholesalers
Prestige du Potager is a high-end selection available everywhere in France to meet the needs of the most demanding specialized wholesalers. It includes 20 references in a wide variety of packaging: cherry tomatoes, top-range potatoes, strawberries, white asparagus, and even white dandelion.

40,000 tons of HEV-certified products
At Fruidor Terroirs, 40% of the merchandise (more than 40,000 tons of products) comes from farms with the High Environmental Value certification. “The HEV policy of Fruidor Terroirs is part of an ambitious program that is always evolving. The Fruidor teams support the partner producers in the process, and there is also an organic range under development to complete the system.” In order to meet the requirements of the Agec law and reduce its carbon footprint, the company has been using scotch tape, paper tape and cardboard trays.

Longer production calendars for a local offer
Thanks to the different sites (Lille, Angers, Le Controis-en-Sologne, Nantes, Bordeaux, Tonneins and Marmande), the production calendars have been extended and incorporate the local supply. The geographical proximity with the producers helps build a trusting relationship,” explains François Dalle. IFS and IFS Broker certified, the sites include warehouses, packing stations and sales offices.
