China Merchant's Port:

Global Fruit and Vegetable Arrival Digital Trading Centre was officially launched

On July 1, China Merchants Port held the official launching ceremony of the "Global Fruit and Vegetable Arrival Digital Trading Center". At the launch ceremony, China Merchants Chuangrong signed cooperation agreements with seven fruit and vegetable customers.

Liu Bin, CEO of the South China Operation Center at China Merchants Port, pointed out that the digital trading center can solve the two major concerns of shippers and traders: one is how to ensure a stable and controllable logistics channel, and the second is how to obtain fresh and delicious fruits with the fastest speed, the fewest links and the lowest costs.

The trading center leads the ecological transformation of the digital supply chain, and builds a complete integrated management and control system for digital ecology and smart logistics; such as comprehensive bonded areas, intelligent sorting centers, automated shuttle fields, and domestic trunk logistics. The full-chain digital twin supply chain of "originating factory-departure port-destination port-sales warehouse" can be realized, and achieve real-time control of cargo status, details, trajectory, and quality, and real-time early warning of abnormal conditions, providing fruit and vegetable customers with a full-chain smart solution.

With the upgrading of domestic consumption, imported fruits have gathered in the Shenzhen West Port Area through more than 190 intensive routes, becoming the preferred port for fruit import customers. In 2021, the fruit import and export throughput of Shenzhen West Port Area reached 153,000 TEUs, and the trade value reached 3 billion US dollars. It is expected that in 2022, the fruit throughput will reach a new high of 180,000 TEUs, with a value of about US$3.6 billion.

Through the cooperation of all parties, the fastest time from unloading to exiting the gate is 5 minutes, and the transaction can be completed in the trading center in more than 10 minutes. It is precisely with this unique advantage that the establishment of a global digital trading center for fruit and vegetable arrivals in Shenzhen West Port will further enrich the "fruit basket in southern China" and the whole of China.
