The overall price of bayberries has risen this year

Bayberries are native to the south of the Yangtze River in China. The continuous developments of science and technology, the selection and breeding of varieties, the improvement of quality, the elongation of the maturity period, and the rise of packaging, preservation, and processing industries, have all made the market prospects of bayberries very broad. In recent years, fresh bayberry has been increasingly exported to the world by air and sea.

Bayberries are distributed in East China, as well as Yunnan, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, and other regions. But the bayberry sold in the Jiaxing Fruit Market mainly comes from Yunnan, Fujian, and Zhejiang. Only a small fraction of the fruits came from Jiangxi this year.

May is the peak period for Yunnan bayberries to be listed. With the improvements in transportation methods in recent years, the Yunnan bayberry is transported in cool containers. The price is much higher than in other regions. Thanks to technological improvement, some brands have come into being. Soon after the listing of the Yunnan bayberry, Fujian bayberries also begin to be fully listed. The varieties are mostly "soft silk" and "hard wire", etc. But, Fujian has had too much rain in the later stages this year, which has a certain impact on the quality and taste. A gap in the price of the fruit with other production areas appeared.

Finally, there is the Zhejiang Bayberry before and after the rainy season, which is generally listed in large quantities at the end of June or early July. Zhejiang Bayberry is mainly produced in Taizhou, Ningbo, and Wenzhou. The quality of Zhejiang's bayberry is outstanding. In addition to a small number of small black charcoal (water chestnut species), most of them are the Dongkui bayberry. Thanks to the role model of Yunnan, the packaging and branding operation of the Zhejiang bayberry is also developing at a high speed. But there are more regional brands at present, such as Xianju. The independent brands are relatively few.

In terms of the business model, part of China's bayberry industry operates with e-commerce. It uses the internet as the forefront of marketing channels and follow-up sales of supplementary means. The other part is concentrated on the wholesale end. Intuitively, with the currently increasing production, the overall trading volume is not as good as in previous years. But the number of inferior bayberries has fallen, so the price as a whole has increased.
