Brian Peixoto, Lakeside Organic Gardens

"We love touring customers at our ranches"

“The Organic Produce Summit is one of our favorite shows, as it’s in our backyard,” says Brian Peixoto, sales manager for Lakeside Organic Gardens. “OPS is a great way to connect and strengthen customer relations. Because our 50+ ranches are so close in Santa Cruz and Monterey County, we love having new and regular customers out for in-depth tours.”

Lakeside will be discussing its romaine, green and red leaf lettuce program at the show.

Peixoto says at the show, Lakeside is showcasing its sustainable and environmentally friendly carton. “100 percent of our polypropylene cartons are recyclable and we no longer use wax cartons,” he says. “It will be great to share with our customers some of the positive feedback we are receiving in the sustainable recycling process.”

Lakeside is also growing artichokes under the Lakeside label along the central California coast.

Lakeside will also highlight its leaf program at the show, which includes romaine, green leaf and red leaf lettuces, baby broccoli and Romanesco. “We are also super happy to grow artichokes under the Lakeside label along the central California coast,” adds Peixoto.
