High Country Aggregation

Avocado aggregation on the lookout for $50 mln investment partner

A 420-hectare “paddock to plate” avocado aggregation with 43,000 trees in south-east Queensland has hit the market with an asking price of more than $50 million. The entity is known as the High Country Aggregation, and put together by industry veterans Daryl and Sally Boardman, it comprises properties at Hampton, Bundaberg and Blackbutt. The aggregation includes 235 ha of avocado trees.

The Boardmans are one of four vendors who are selling up, alongside the Geraghty, Beutal and Nash families. About 235 hectares of the aggregation is planted predominantly with Hass avocados, with a further 95 hectares suitable for further plantings.

Also included in the offering is the Boardmans’ Sunnyspot Packhouse avocado packing and marketing business.

Despite avocado prices plummeting in recent years amid a fruit glut, the sector has remained popular with institutional investors.
