Washington state is the most important production area for cherries in the northwest of the United States, and the output accounts for about 85% of the total production of cherries in the northwest of the United States. Due to the unusually cold spring early this year, the harvest date of Washington cherries has been delayed, and the production is also expected to be significantly reduced, of which only a small amount is expected to arrive in June and peak in July and August.
According to the Northwest Cherry Growers (NWCG) forecast, this season's production is expected to be 13.6 million boxes (9kg/box), which is about 60-80% of the average in the past few years.
