The Chambers of Agriculture of Occitania and their partners are organizing this first Tech&Bio meeting dedicated to arboriculture.
It is the regional version of the international Tech&Bio fair that takes place every two years in the Drôme department. The objective of this meeting in Occitania is to inform farmers about the latest developments in terms of organic and alternative practices.
A unique event
The first edition of this Tech&Bio meeting for Arboriculture will take place in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, which is the leader in France in terms of fruit production. Nearly 1,500 visitors are expected to attend the event, located at the heart of the experimental orchards of CEFEL and the departmental agricultural school. They will be able to participate in conferences and technical workshops, attend demonstrations and see all the exhibitors.
A targeted program
The event will focus on technical innovation and robotics for the agro-ecological transition and the economic development of fruit productions. The program will include:
• 4 conferences on the adaptation of orchards to climate change, fruit preservation in organic farming, aphid management and the organic fruit market.
• 11 workshops at the heart of the orchard, with speakers specialized in nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts), diversification crops (pomegranate, persimmon, pistachio), soil fertilization, weed management, conversion to organic farming, as well as table grape and olive management.
- Demonstrations will be held throughout the day. Don't miss the ones on tillage and the arduousness of labor.
