Cambodia exported $1.57 billion worth of agricultural products in the first four months of this year. Non-rice agriculture products exported in January-April weighed in at 2,762,563 tons, comprising – among other items – cassava, cashew nuts, corn, mung beans, soybeans, bananas, pomelos, mangoes and vegetables.
Agriculture minister Veng Sakhon recently commented that cultivation had been on the rise in the Covid-19 era, and that his ministry had implemented several measures to support and boost production and quality, to respond more effectively to local and international demand. The ministry’s General Directorate of Agriculture said that in 2021, Cambodia exported 7,984,251 tons of agricultural products to 68 countries and territories, marking a 63.83 per cent increase over 2020, and netting more than $4.96 billion.
