The Netherlands accounted for 46% of the total value of shipments
According to a report by the Agrodata website, Peru exported 117,297,835 kilos of avocados between January and April of this year for a FOB value of 224,712,328 dollars. These figures reflect a slight decrease compared to the same period last year when the country exported 130,931,750 kilos for $284,096,745.
The main destination of these shipments in the first 4 months of 2022 was the Netherlands with placements for 103,936,753 dollars, which accounted for 46% of total shipments. It was followed by Spain with $38,632,571, China with $18,973,407, Chile with $14,041,469, the United Kingdom with $13,617,549, Hong Kong with $9,056,003, and South Korea with $7,364,512, among others with smaller amounts.
In the first quarter of this year, the main avocado exporter was Westfalia Fruit PerĂº SAC with sales of 28.7 million dollars, equivalent to 13% of the national total.
