Peruvian passion fruit exports increased by 10.1% in the first two months of 2022

In the first two months of the year, passion fruit exports have registered a year-on-year increase of 10.1% totaling 6,180,000 dollars, according to the Association of Exporters (ADEX).

Passion fruit juice accounted for 55% of exports, fruit pulp accounted for 20% of the total, and concentrate for 18%. The fruit is also marketed in other presentations: fresh fruit, drink, nectar, aroma, essence, oil, and jam.

Peru exported its passion fruit to a total of 23 destinations. The Netherlands was the main destination with $2,539,000 (-20%), followed by the United States with $1,141,000 (+49.4%). The remaining top ten destinations were Chile, Puerto Rico, France, Germany, Belgium, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Dominican Republic.

Quicornac S.A.C. was the leading exporting company with a 33.9% stake. It was followed by Frutos Tongorrape S.A., Selva Industrial S.A., Pulpagro S.A., Agroindustrias AIB S.A., Agrokaru S.A.C., Agromar Industrial S.A., Mebol S.A.C., Delicias y Sabores del Perú E.I.R.L. and Unión de Negocios Corporativos S.A.C.
