Southern Uzbekistan apricot exports have started

The first batches of fresh apricots were exported about 10 days ago from the southernmost region of Uzbekistan – the Termez district of the Surkhandarya region. According to the administration of the Surkhandarya region, the SPN Humo agro agricultural enterprise with plantations located in the Termez region, has already exported several tens of tons of fresh apricots of early varieties of the new crop.

“Termez region is located in the very south of Uzbekistan, and thanks to the climate, vegetables and fruits ripen there much earlier than in other regions of the country. Therefore, our company has established plantations of early varieties of apricots on 58 ha and peach plantations on 30 ha there. In the current season, we plan to harvest about 270-300 tons of apricots and send them for export,” said Nurbek Alikulov, director of SPN Humo Agro.
