Strawberry prices keep dropping in Uzbekistan

From 22 to 29 April 2022, the average wholesale prices for strawberries in Uzbekistan dropped from 20,000 to 15,000 UZS/kg ($1.77 to $1.34), in effect another 25% in one week. If we consider the dynamics of wholesale prices since the beginning of April, then the average wholesale prices have fallen from the maximum value recorded on April 8, 2022 at the level of 110,000 UZS/kg ($ 9.68) by 7.3 times over the past 3 weeks!

As of April 22, 2022, the average wholesale prices are 2.3 times lower than on the same date in 2021, but 25% higher than on the same date in 2020. However, in absolute terms and taking into account two years of inflation, current prices are roughly in line with the levels of the same period in 2019.
