"We help importers and exporters keep their cherries fresh for longer"

The shipping times during the previous cherry season were often longer than expected due to the global shipping crisis. Moreover, shipping containers were often delayed at customs. These delays made it difficult for importers and exporters to keep their fruit fresh and maintain product quality.

Manager Li of Shandong Source of Nutrition Technology Co., Ltd. recently talked about fresh-keeping solutions for cherries: cherry preserver, 1-MCP slow-release sachet, 1-MCP cards, and controlled atmosphere bag.

"Cherries can be submerged in a liquid cherry preserver immediately after the harvest. The preserver can also be applied through a sprinkler or using fumigation equipment. We provide our clients with advanced fumigation technology to apply preserver or disinfectant in cold storage or refrigerated shipping containers. This method is quick and easy, and quite effective. Cherry preserver effectively slows down the physiological processes in the cherries and keeps the nutrients fresh for more than 60 days longer than usual," explained manager Li.

"Logfresh fresh-keeping technology extends the shelf life of cherries and can also mitigate the impact of refrigeration technology during long-distance transportation at sea on the flavor and nutritional value of the fruit. 1-MCP slow-release sachets and 1-MCP cards can easily be placed in the lined box or bag with the cherries. The box or bag should then be sealed for at least six hours for the sachet or card to effectively exterminate micro-organisms on the surface of the cherries and keep the cherries fresh for longer."

Manager Li also introduced atmosphere controlled bags. "The production line of cherries in atmosphere controlled bags is almost completely automated and only requires one employee to operate. This greatly saves on labor cost and production cost. Our Logfresh atmosphere controlled bag is also 50% cheaper compared to similar products from Chile or Israel. Atmosphere controlled bags extend the shelf life of cherries by 15 days compared to other methods," explained manager Li. "Cherry orchard owners and cherry retailers can avoid fierce competition during the peak of the cherry season by slowly releasing their stock and extending the supply season of cherries."

Shandong Source of Nutrition Technology was founded in 1996. The company has close to 30 years of experience in fresh-keeping products for the fruit industry, including fresh-keeping technology for fruit in storage and fruit preservers, but also ripening stimulants, fresh-keeping membranes.
